The Challenge

Before adopting HoloBuilder, our company made use of cell phone images and videos to capture site progress and services. It was difficult to communicate the exact positions and areas that were captured. We identified that there could be improvements in the time spent and the accuracy of these methods. Managing projects across Africa from our base in Cape Town posed logistical challenges. It was not feasible to travel every second week, necessitating a solution to track progress and manage projects remotely. Additionally, we faced issues related to the availability of accurate as-built drawings. The primary issue was efficiently recreating mechanical ducting, fire protection, and other essential elements in buildings where precise documentation was either missing or outdated.

Project Goals

Our core vision is to deliver value to each project, and HoloBuilder brought us a step closer to this vision. The goals of adopting HoloBuilder included:

Reducing travel time: By managing remote sites more effectively, we aimed to minimize the need for on-site visits, thereby saving valuable time and resources.
Increasing visibility on site: Enhanced visibility allowed for better oversight and management of projects, ensuring that all stakeholders had up-to-date information and could make informed decisions.

Solution

Effectively manage sites remotely, providing a comprehensive view of the project without the need for frequent site visits. Save on travel time and costs, enabling us to allocate resources more efficiently and focus on other critical aspects of our projects. A camera is left on sites, and it is the responsibility of the Site Manager to ensure regular updates can be received.
