Sewer and stormwater network branches are automatically calculated, and each branch graded to ensure water flow from each starting node to the outfall node. Networks can be optimised by specifying certain design parameters. Sewer and stormwater networks are analysed within Devotech iDAS, without the need to export to external analysis applications. Pipes are automatically sized according to the flow and velocities of the pipes.

Devotech iDAS supports networked systems, as well as overland distribution networks. Networks are analysed real-time, without the need to export data to external applications. Devotech iDAS contains a comprehensive library of water network structures and pipes.
This course will teach users all the tools needed to design a pressurized water systems in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Infrastructure Design Automation Suite (iDAS). Training focuses on bulk water pipeline design and analysis, water reticulation network design and analysis, pumps, valves, water tank sizing and clash detection. All the other tools needed for a successful design such as surfaces, platforms, COGO points, plan production and quantities are also covered in this course.

Urban Roads
Single Carriageways
Single carriageway design can sometimes be challenging and the most important part is to keep all the objects dynamic. Devotech iDAS provides tools to link drainage and
guardrail details in the profile views (longsections) dynamically with the corridor. The other major benefit is that Devotech iDAS can link profiles dynamically with the corridor so that the profiles of the road edges are dynamic and they do not need to be recreated every time the design changes. Devotech iDAS also contains a subassembly for cut/fill based on SANRAL (South African Road Agency) requirements.
Dual Carriageway
- Lane subassembly which has inside and outside width and shift width
- Median subassembly with retaining wall which automatically creates channel, barrier or barrier with retaining wall according to the vertical difference between carriagewayās inside edges
- Cut/fill subassembly based on SANRAL (South African Road Agency) requirements
Stormwater & Sewer Networks
The main Devotech iDAS tools for stormwater networks design and analysis are the following:
