Concept to Reality – the first step.
Bring the site back into the office, the place where inspiration first took place, by visualising the reality as its been captured.
The concept has been materialised – now where to from here?
Dimensions can be added to the BIM model with asbuilt reality capture in the form of laser scanning. The technology used to design the building can be extended into the occupation phase, through to the end of the life cycle of the building. This facilitates maintenance, alterations and even renovation in the distant future. By doing this, we are able to extend the life of the building and reduce rework costs many years down the line.
What is the point in doing it if it’s not right?
How do we keep up with the design pace if we not keeping up with the site verification stages? Capturing as-built, and continuous verification thereof, makes sure that the design and construction stages are paced in parallel.
